Membership Terms
At Buzz ’A’ Beat, our programs are designed to be progressive, allowing children to learn through small experiences week after week.
Meaningful musical progression happens over time through consistency, familiarity, and the joy of returning each week as part of a child’s piano journey.
This philosophy forms the foundation of our Membership model and the policies that support each child’s ongoing musical progression throughout the year, including the summer months.
Start your Membership with a Free Trial Class
We’re excited to welcome families to Buzz ’A’ Beat, and we want your start with us to feel relaxed, joyful, and completely pressure-free. Your introduction to Membership starts with a Group Piano Lesson or Baby & Me Piano Time class at no cost.
There is no commitment required to experience the trial class. You’re welcome to enjoy our boutique studio and your class and settle in at your own pace. If the program doesn’t feel like the right fit, you may cancel your Membership anytime up to three (3) days after your trial class, and you won’t be charged.
If you choose to continue after your trial class - and we hope you do! - your Membership will simply begin with your next scheduled weekly class. We’ll confirm all the details with you by email in advance.
We’ve designed this offer so families can experience the joy, warmth, and musical magic of Buzz ’A’ Beat before making any decisions. Each child is eligible for a Trial Class once when first joining Buzz 'A' Beat.
Monthly Memberships include four weekly classes
In months where your scheduled class occurs five times, an Additional Class Week will be added to your Membership billing.
You are not billed when your scheduled class falls on a studio closure, such as a holiday or school break.
Your Membership automatically renews each month
Your Monthly Membership automatically renews each month unless you let us know that you do not wish to renew.
Memberships are billed in advance on the first of each month.
If your family joins partway through a month, your first payment is prorated. Your regular monthly Membership billing will then begin on the first of the following month.
Membership fees are non-refundable. Vacation Credits and Progression Make-up Classes are available according to the policies below.
Vacation Credits let you enjoy family time and travel
We believe children benefit from consistency, but families also need flexibility. That’s why we built our Memberships so your children can enjoy summer adventures without missing a Beat.
To support family travel and extended time away while keeping your child’s place reserved in class, you may request Vacation Credits for up to four class weeks per calendar year.
Vacation Credits must be requested at least seven (7) days in advance.
During approved Vacation Credit weeks, Membership fees paid for those weeks are credited towards your next monthly Membership billing. Full details can be found in our Vacation Credit Policy.
A Progression Make-up Class is there when you need it
We also understand that life doesn't always go as planned. Little ones get sick, nap schedules change, family commitments arise, and sometimes the unexpected happens. We know it can be disappointing when your child misses a class. That’s why our Memberships include Progression Make-up Classes for Baby & Me Piano Time.
When your child can't attend a scheduled class, we'll add a Progression Make-up Class to your Buzz 'A' Beat account.
Our goal isn't simply to offer another class. It's to help your child continue the joyful, week-by-week musical experiences that make musical progression possible.
We'll welcome you to join another available class that week so your child can experience that week's theme.
If that isn't possible, we welcome you to join another available class in the days that follow while your Progression Make-up Class remains in your account for one month. In this case, your child will attend two classes in one week - a regularly scheduled weekly class and a Progression Make-up Class.

Missed Group Piano classes can be made up
We also offer private makeup lessons and guided practice sessions for an additional fee that you can easily book by emailing info@buzzabeat.ca.
These makeup options give your child a chance to stay on track, build confidence, and keep their musical momentum going, even if they miss a scheduled class.
We follow the school-year rhythm
To help keep routines simple for families, we do not hold classes on TDSB or TCDSB School Year Holidays, or during March Break (Mid-Winter Break) and Winter/Christmas Break.
On PA Days, however, our regular classes continue as usual.
Choosing Not to Renew Your Membership
If you choose not to renew your Monthly Membership, we ask that you let us know at least five (5) days before the first day of the upcoming month.
Your child's safety and wellbeing
At Buzz ’A’ Beat, your child’s safety and wellbeing are always at the heart of everything we do. We want families to feel confident, protected, and cared for the moment they walk through our doors. That’s why our studio is built with a thoughtful, comprehensive approach to safety:
- Our studio is protected by 24/7 security monitoring, with immediate access to fire and police response if ever needed.
- We use exterior security cameras and classroom cameras to support a safe, transparent environment.
- Each classroom features glass doors, allowing parents to peek in at any time without interrupting the learning experience.
- Team members undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check and maintain First Aid & CPR certification.
- We clean and disinfect instruments and toys after each class to keep our space fresh and hygienic
- We maintain strict privacy and information-handling protocols, ensuring your child’s experiences remain safe, secure, and protected.
Our goal is for every family to feel at ease, knowing their little one is learning, growing, and exploring in a space that truly puts safety first.
